I'm so pleased to bring this volume to market. Once upon a time, Rose Fyleman scattered her thoughts into the world like so much dandelion fuzz, and here they have landed, over a century later, in your lap. Lucky, lucky you. I trust the faithful fairies will point from their world to things that are of value in our world.
A word about the art ... I used art that is in the public domain and I did a little editing. I may have stretched, cut, or tinkered a little, adding a small fairy here or there where one was wanted. I also flipped a few images. When I flipped images, I left the artists' signatures intact—backwards. So if something looks fishy about some of this art ... this is why. May the artists forgive my audacious behavior.
I fell in love with these poems when I was a young girl, long, long ago. And I love them still. I hope you, dear reader, will love them as much as I did and do.
